There’s a new movie opening at select cinemas around Australia this week.
It’s called 23 Blast.
It’s an American high-school movie about a teen playing gridiron.
NOW, at first glance, that plot doesn’t sound very interesting to an Australian audience. But 23 Blast isn’t about touchdowns or superbowls.
BUT, 23 Blast is based on the true story of Travis Freeman, an American pastor who became blind in his early teens.
Travis and his parents came to see his blindness as a gift from God, a gift that Travis went on to use - off the field, as well as on the field.
And you know what? Blind Travis actually played gridiron - with kids who could see.
Our program’s producer Ben McEachen spoke with Travis about having his life up on the big screen.
BEN’s not speaking to the actor. He’s speaking to the real Travis.
And he asked Travis whether he felt his Christian faith was presented clearly and strongly enough by 23 Blast.
