Coming up are what’s called the MOORE COLLEGE LECTURES, five or six talks on an important topic.
And this year Dr Kevin Vanhoozer is coming out from Chicago. He’s a Professor in Systematic Theology.
Dr Vanhoozer will be exploring the five 'catch cry' statements from the Protestant Reformation of the 16th Century.
The statements were:
- GRACE ALONE
- FAITH ALONE
- BIBLE ALONE
- CHRIST ALONE
- And FOR THE GLORY OF GOD ALONE.
I might just start at the beginning ... can you give us a history lesson … what happened in the 16th Century - why was there this thing called the Protestant Reformation?
What were the issues at the heart of things?
I notice one of the titles of your talks is … "Should the church repent or retrieve the Reformation? Secularism, skepticism, and schism, oh my!” What are you going to be saying there?
