Pornography is widespread and seeming to reach every corner of society. Explicit sexual content has been warping society's attitude to sex, including the youngest minds. I've been shocked and saddened to learn how many children have been directly effected by porn.
“Porn Harms Kids” is the blunt name of a conference taking place in February at the University of New South Wales.
The first of its kind, the conference aims to voice concerns about porn and discuss how to positively combat it.
Melinda Tankard Reist is a co-founder of social activist group Collective Shout, which is one of the organisers of the conference. We spoke about need for the conference and why porn is such a destructive presentation of sex.
